I am &c., to acknowledge the
receipt of your letter of the 24th
Sept., asking for a form of appli-
cation and further particulars of
the appointment of Professor of
Medicine in the Govt. Kedical
School, Singapore; and, in reply
to your question, to inform you
that, as you state that you are
upwards of 57 years of age and
have spent 20 years in the Tropics,
he fear that there is no prospect of your tected sex for the ap-
pointment should you dontuall
become a candidate for it.
